Pumpkin Slice Cookies just in time for Thanksgiving!
You can use your favorite sugar cooking recipe or shortbread recipe.
To make mini-pie slices use a knife to cut simple circles into wedges. The size of the cookies will depend on what size cutter you use.
When it comes to circle cutters I love graduated sets because I always have the size I need. If you have a mini-candy corn cutter, that would work too. I used a four inch round cutter so the baked cookies were about two inches in length.
To make these cookies you will need: Pumpkin orange 20-second icing {I mix tulip red, egg yellow, and a little warm brown} Stiff-ish crust colored piping icing {I mixed ivory with a little warm brown} Stiff white piping icing
Begin by flooding the wedges with orange 20-second icing and let dry.
To make the crust, position a #101 tip near the left corner of the cookie, thin side up. Slowly move up and down in a loose “M” shape until you reach the opposite side.
Use a boo-boo stick or toothpick to clean up any sharp points if necessary. If you’re new to petal tips, don’t let them intimidate you. Practice on a paper towel until you feel confident.
Finish up by using a star tip to add a dollop of whipped cream. I used a #16, but an #18 would work well too. Including the crust my mini pie cookies were just a little over two inches long. Use these cuties to fill Mason jars for an adorable gift. If you really want your pumpkin pie cookie to taste like pumpkin, try the pumpkin spice variation of my cookie recipe or one of these:

What else do I need to know about sewing with cork?
We suggest using a fresh, sharp needle with each new project, and we personally use an 80/12 or 90/14 Microtex needle and I love the Titanium needles because of their strength.
Teflon feet are often recommended but you can use a standard or rolling foot. Play around with it and see what suits you and your machine best. If you are sewing through several layers you may need to make adjustments accordingly.
Wonder clips. Wonder clips. Wonder clips. You will NOT want to pin your gorgeous cork fabric (and it would be difficult trying to)!
A longer 4-5 stitch length works well for most projects.
Can I embroider my cork fabric?
Absolutely, and it’s just so beautiful!! You can see a few examples over on our Instagram.
How do I clean my cork fabric?
While cork can be dry cleaned, it is NOT machine washable. Cork fabric can be wiped down with a clean gentle cloth, a little liquid soap and water.
Can I iron my cork fabric?
Cork fabric can crease, which is why we send it to you rolled, sealed and protected. Ironing is NOT recommended, and finger pressing will work great for most sewing projects. It’s best to avoid heat of the iron needed with fusible interfacing, so sew-in stabilizers are great for more structured projects.

Does your duvet insert slide to the bottom of your duvet?
How to keep the duvet insert in place?
Easy as pie with Duvet cover snap fasteners! Sew the fasteners on each corner of the duvet and the insert and I recommend 2 snaps on each side, the bottom and top of the duvet. Duvet Snaps can be purchased at Home Sewing Depot.
Here is a duvet we made several years ago, the insert always stays in place because we used duvet snaps on each corner and 2 on each side and 2 on the top and bottom of the duvet.
Using duvet cover snap fasteners will prevent the shifting of the duvet insert. You should sew the duvet cover snap fasteners to the insert and the duvet.
Sew all the corner snaps on first and then divide the space between the corners by 3 : Example 120" wide divided by 3 =40" so your snaps would be snaps would be sewn 30" apart. 90" Long and the snaps would be 30" apart.
Turn the duvet cover wrong side out and sew the snaps on at the seam lines. Sew the snaps to the duvet insert approximately in the same place or close. There will be some wiggle room between the cover and the insert.
How to turn the duvet right side out with the duvet cover snap fasteners?
Snap all of the snaps together then start from the opening and fold the duvet back over the duvet insert, turning it right side out.Turning the bottom layer as you go, you will eventually have the right sides showing and the insert in place on the inside of the duvet.
