Claudine Valance Pattern

Watch Claudine Valance Video Below This simple, yet smart tab valance with banding along the top and bottom edge can be adapted to fit any size window by adding additional swag sections. Our instructions are for a valance that is 40” to 42” finished width. The information needed to add to or reduce the width is included. The finished length of the valance is approximately 22” at the swag and 19” at the horns.

This valance works best when constructed out of a medium-weight decorative fabric. The side.  horns and middle horn are lined in a contrasting fabric and the swag sections are lined with regular drapery lining; however, piping must be used to prevent the lining from showing at the bottom of the treatment.

Use a drapery interlining to give the valance the best body and shape. Interlining is a flannel-like cotton fabric that hangs between the face fabric and the lining. It is available in white and natural colors and can be found at most decorative fabric stores or at www.homesewingdepot.com. It is not the same thing as interfacing.

We mounted our valance on an iron rod approximately 1” in diameter. A larger diameter rod may be used; however, the tabs will have to be adjusted.

This Julia valance pattern works best when constructed out of a medium-weight decorative fabric. The pleated tab sections are lined in a contrasting fabric and the swag

#1 Valance Pattern! I made this valance  for my kitchen and and over my back door. 

This fully lined and interlined, tailored valance with pleated underskirt can be adapted to fit any size window. The finished length of the valance is approximately 22” in length.

This valance works best when constructed out of a medium- weight decorative fabric with medium to lightweight contrasting fabric for the pleated underskirt. A favorite In my home!

The gusset section and side jabots are self-lined in the same fabric as the face fabric with a small covered piping along the bottom edge. The swag sections are lined in regular ivory or white drapery lining; however, a decorative trim or piping should be added to prevent the lining from showing at the bottom of the treatment. The pleated underskirt is attached to regular ivory or white drapery lining.

Mims Valance Pattern

This valance pattern is a simple design that looks great in most any room. It can be adapted to fit any size window. Our instructions are for a valance that is 36-42” finished width. The information needed to add to or reduce the width is included. The finished length of the valance is approximately 18” at the swag, 14” at the middle jabot and 20.5” at the long point of the side jabots.

The entire Mims valance pattern is lined in a contrasting fabric making it reversible. It is mounted on posts with knobs or medallions (available at homesewingdepot.com)

Julie Anne Drapery Panels Pattern

These stylish curtains are great to use as decorative side panels. They are non-workable and each side panel covers about 18-20” of space. The side panels consist of 1-1/2 width of fabric each.

Trim can be applied to the leading edge of the panels, if desired. We added a small brush fringe to the top of the panels in place of the covered piping.

The length of the panels can be adapted to any length.

The Emily Valance Pattern is a fully lined and interlined valance can be adapted to fit any size window. Instructions are for a 42” board mount with a skirted backdrop. However, it can be hung from a rod with rings. The finished length of the valance from the top of the board is approximately 14
½” at the shortest point, 18”at the sides and approximately 23” at the center points.

This Emily Valance Pattern works best when constructed out of a medium-weight decorative fabric.

This treatment was totally contrast-lined. A decorative lining should be used because it will show underneath at the sides and in the pleat area, as well as the cuff at the top of the points.

This is an easy-to-construct valance and can be adapted to fit any size window. It is installed on knobs with posts and decorative ties can be added, if desired. Our instructions are for a Tracy valance that is 42” finished width. The information needed to add to or reduce the width is included. The finished length of the tracy valance is approximately 19” at the swag and 18” at the horn. The pattern allows for 3 ½ or 5 ½” returns at each side where the valance returns to the wall.

We used a decorative contrast fabric for the horn lining, piping and ties. The swag sections are lined in decorative contrasting fabric. This valance can be reversible, however, indoor/outdoor fabric is recommended to prevent fading from the sun.

Trim can be added along the bottom edge, if desired

This charming awning valance is a great choice for any room including kitchens, bathrooms, sun rooms, laundry rooms, and kid’s rooms. It features a shaped bottom and piping made out of contrasting fabric. The pattern, as is, will make a valance that is 44” wide, but it can easily be adapted to fit different width windows. The finished length of the valance is approximately 19 inches and projects out from the wall about 8” at the bottom.

This unique valance is a casual take on a formal style and can be adapted to fit any size window by adding additional swag sections. Our instructions are for a valance that is 36-44” finished width. The information needed to add to or reduce the width is included. The finished length of the valance is approximately 21 ½” at the swag, 18” at the middle jabot and 32” at the side jabots. The jabots are lined in a contrasting fabric. A facing made with decorative fabric is used along the bottom edge of the swag lining so that ivory/white lining does show to the front.

This is an easy-to-construct valance and can be adapted to fit any size window. This pattern comes with 4 different variations: Pointed bottom without a cuff, pointed bottom with a pointed cuff, rounded bottom with no cuff, or rounded bottom with rounded cuff. It can be installed on knobs with posts or on a rod with rings. Our instructions are for a valance that is 42” finished width. The
information needed to add to or reduce the width is included. The approximate finished lengths are shown at right.

Use a decorative contrast fabric for the lining and piping. This valance can be reversible, if desired. You can take out the stitching adjoining the pieces and reverse the fabric and stitch back together for a new look. However, we recommend using indoor/outdoor fabric if you choose to make your valance reversible to prevent the fabric from fading.

This elegant valance pattern with sash and buttons can be adapted to fit various window widths. Our pattern, as is, makes a valance that is 42” finished width. The finished length of the valance is approximately 22 inches at the center and approximately 25 inches at the sides.

Dana valance pattern works best when constructed out of a medium to heavy-weight decorative fabric for the face fabric. We recommend a light-weight fabric, such as silk taffeta, for the sash.

The valance has a slightly shaped bottom with facings at the top and bottom.

All Cork Emilie Mini Messenger outside Adjustments:
To make the outside of the Emilie Mini Messenger you will need (1) 18x27 (referred to as solid) and (1) 9x12 piece (referred to as print) of cork. 

From the solid cut (2) 2" x 27" and (1) 2" x 4" strips for the E pieces.  Sew 27" pieces together to form long strip, fold in half and topstitch as directed in pattern.  Topstitch small piece as well.  No interfacing.  
Cut the (2) A pieces from solid as well, do not interface or use fleece. 
For piece B, cut 11" x 9" strip from print for front only.  Cut a 1.5" x 11" strip from solid and sew to top edge of print before trimming with template.  Do not interface or use fleece.
Pieces C & D and back of B will be cut from fabric as directed in pattern.
