Moon River Shoulder Bag Pattern

Moon River is a stylish shoulder bag that is fun to make!  In this pattern you’ll learn how to add a magnetic snap, make a recessed zipper, and tips for sewing curves. This bag also features a front flap pocket an divided interior pocket. The name of this pattern was inspired by this purse’s moon-shaped curves and one of my favorite classic songs.

The finished size is 13″ wide, 12″ high, and 3-1/2″ deep.

You can choose to add Chain Strap Connectors for extra “bling” or use Rectangle Rings.

RECOMMENDED FABRICS: You can use quilt weight cotton, canvas, denim, or linen for the exterior. I recommend quilt weight cotton for the lining. Try using cork or vinyl for the contrast, or you can use quilt weight cotton, canvas, denim, or linen.

• 3/4 Yard (42" Wide)

Lining

• 1 yard (42" wide)

Contrast - Front Flap, Gusset & Straps

• 1/3 yard (27" wide) or 1/3 yard (42" wide)

• 5/8 yard (45" wide)

Hardware & Zippers

• 1 - 3/4" Magnetic Snap
• 4 1/2" Chain Strap Connectors or 4- 1/2" Rectangle Rings
