Louise Valance Pattern
This is an easy-to-construct valance. The Louise Valance Pattern can be adapted to fit any size window. This pattern comes with 4 different variations: Pointed bottom without a cuff, pointed bottom with a pointed cuff, rounded bottom with no cuff, or rounded bottom with rounded cuff. It can be installed on knobs with posts or on a rod with rings. Our instructions are for a valance that is 42” finished width. The information needed to add to or reduce the width is included. The approximate finished lengths are shown at right.
Use a decorative contrast fabric for the lining and piping. This valance can be reversible, if desired. You can take out the stitching adjoining the pieces and reverse the fabric and stitch back together for a new look. However, we recommend using indoor/outdoor fabric if you choose to make your valance reversible to prevent the fabric from fading. Our easiest valance pattern ever.
Trim can be added along the cuffed edge, if desired.
This valance works best when constructed out of a medium-weight decorative fabric.
