Daphne Handbag by Sallie Tomato
The Daphne Handbag is a quick sew, and fun to make! The handbag features an exterior accent, faux piping, zipper closure, an adjustable crossbody strap, two interior pockets, and optional rivets. You can use metal strap connectors and a metal zipper tab if you choose not to make your own.
You can make this handbag with quilter’s weight cotton, vinyl, cork, or other bag materials. The finished size of this handbag measures 9-1/2” wide at base, 9” high, and 4-1/2” deep. You can substitute foam with fusible fleece if desired.
I would recommend making the exterior accent, strap connectors, and handles from “specialty fabrics,” such as vinyl, cork, or leather, to ensure accuracy. However, I’ve included instructions for making these items from quilter’s weight cotton as well.
